Club Day Debrief -- Lu Gan
This club day was very interesting and new to me, let me feel the rich club organization of the University of Otago. And I felt that I can do some successful networking with them. I visited some of the clubs that day, and I really found something I interested in, such as badminton, Latin dance and tramping club. I spent some time talked with them. But my plan was to find something not only funny but also show my value. And I kept looking for until I noticed a club named: Unicef for every child. I've always been concerned about children's issues. I've been part of a program in China that supports out-of-school girls for 15 years. Because it was a big problem in China 20 years ago. So I started to talk with them. First of all, I introduced myself and what my experience about children issue especially girls. I supported two out-of-school girls in China to finish their college. I want to focus on helping children around the world solve their plight. And then I asked about what they have done for recently years, and got to know who they needed. And I showed them my values and how I eager to work with this meaningful work. they asked if I want join them, and I said yes. Since time was limited, I sign up after meeting them, and read more information about this organization online. I will join the event in the organization in the future.
