A Problem I Have Solved -- Nao Miyahara
I had a serious difficulty when I came to New Zealand. I got homesick because New Zealand has different cultures, food, and lifestyles. Therefore, I really missed Japanese food, my family, my friends, and the life I had spent before. Also, I couldn’t tell anyone about this problem because I thought that only I had got homesick.
However, my friends told me that they had a
similar challenge, so I was able to tell my problem to my friends. After that,
I went out every weekend, and we did fun things. For example, we went to the cinema to watch a movie and went to eat at restaurants. As a result, I no
longer have time to think about Japan and can enjoy my life in New Zealand.
Throughout this experience, I learn that I
mustn’t hold a serious problem for myself, and I have to talk to someone I
trust. In addition to this, I got the courage to talk to friends about my difficulty and got the strength to endure it. Before experiencing this challenge, I
really relied on my family, but I have to do something such as cleaning my clothes
by myself in New Zealand. So, I also learned I had to be independent.
In conclusion, I gain the
necessary elements to become a magnificent person because of this experience. I
think this experience is relevant to my college application because I could
solve an incredibly big challenge in my life, and this event may help my life when I work or study something.
I also miss my family and friends. Let's hang out many places!!
ReplyDeleteI wrote about the same topic. If you feel a homesick, please let me know. Let's go lovely cafe with us(*^_^*)
ReplyDeleteIt is cool to think that your experience here has made you a more resilient person. It is great that you also learned that you can reach out to others and obtain support from them. There is no need to be an 'island' in one's suffering! David :-)
ReplyDeleteYou can rely on us. Don't keep it to yourself!
ReplyDeleteI have the same difficulties with you!! Let's make a lot of memories with me (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))
ReplyDeleteIt was great doing something funny with friends to overcome homesick. I do have homesick quite often, especially Chinese food. :)
