Visa - A big problem I have solved -- Chien Nguyen

About a year ago, I encountered a number of serious issues with my student visa. The Immigration Ministry informed me of some problems with my visa through an email, and they asked me to wait for a long time. After reading the email, I became very upset and worried about what was happening and how I could handle the situation.

I immediately shared this problem with my parents during a dinner conversation, feeling overwhelmed and constantly seeking their help. My mother advised me to be patient and wait. Then, on the following Sunday, I received an email from a lawyer who instructed me to provide additional documents to the Immigration Ministry of New Zealand, including an academic transcript from my university, a foreign language proficiency certificate, and a bachelor's degree, all translated into English. I was confused because I did not have these documents in my possession, so I had to go to my university to obtain them. I took a deep breath and headed to my university by bus.

After a long day at the university, I finally collected all the necessary documents with gladness. Without hesitation, I provided them to a translation company, which was a crucial step before submitting them to the Immigration Ministry. Three days later, I received the translated documents and immediately sent them to the Immigration Ministry.

After three months, I received my visa, and I felt overjoyed. Since then, I have frequently thought about how I felt and what I did when I faced this problem. This experience has made me a more resilient and resistant person. Moreover, it taught me the valuable lesson that taking deep breaths can alleviate tension and recharge my batteries.

  6. Nice point. Sometimes when something unexpected happens, it is indeed good to stop & take a deep breath, instead of catasrophizing the situation. I'll think of the lesson you learned next time I face a crisis. David :-)
