What I Wish I Had Known About Kiwi Culture -- Chien Nguyen

Honestly, I have been living in Dunedin, New Zealand for nearly 6 weeks. Time flies quickly :)). There are several things that I was surprised about its culture. Initially, I wish I had known how to skillfully use a knife and fork in my meal. I truly could not use them cleverly because we as Vietnamese people use spoons and chopsticks regularly, rather than using them.
On the other hand, I was also awe-inspiring by the traffic rules in this country. It is absolutely weird for me - a Vietnamese student, because it is essential and compulsory for pedestrians to give way for all kinds of transportation or vehicles if they wish to come across the road. However, I have seen many signals alongside all roads or highways which inform that it is compulsory to give way to pedestrians.
Although there are many entirely bizarre things that happened in my life in New Zealand because of cultural differences, I have adapted gradually to this grand-new culture and become a true Kiwi in the near future.
